This policy explains what PB Tourney collects, why, and who sees it. Short version: we collect what's needed to run pickleball sessions and keep records straight; we don't sell your data or show ads.
What we collect
Account: phone number (verified by SMS code) and/or Google email, your display name, and the time you accepted the Terms and SMS opt-in.
Profile (optional): email, city, home court, Instagram handle, DUPR rating, gender, date of birth (used only to compute age for leaderboards), profile photo, travel/away status.
Play data: sessions you claim, waitlists, tournaments and games you play in, scores, wins, point differentials, rankings, and photos uploaded to games and tournaments.
Technical: basic device/browser information and approximate location only if you tap "Near me" to find courts. We don't run advertising trackers.
How we use it
Run sessions and tournaments: rosters, waitlists, schedules, live scores, results and leaderboards.
Message you about your sessions by SMS and email (see the Terms for SMS consent details; reply STOP to opt out of texts).
Keep one identity per player: your phone number is the ground truth; your name is a display label that follows your account.
Show community features you opt into, like travel status and photos.
Fix problems and improve the app.
Who can see what
Other players: your display name, profile photo, city, home court, DUPR, Instagram, travel status (if on), the sessions you're on, and your game results and rankings.
Organizers and admins: additionally your phone number and email, so they can reach you about sessions you joined.
Service providers: Google Firebase (hosting the database and phone sign-in), EmailJS (email), and Twilio or a similar provider (SMS). They process data only to provide those services.
Not: we don't sell personal data and don't share it with advertisers.
Your choices
Text messages: reply STOP to any message, or turn off SMS in your profile.
Emails: unsubscribe link, or remove your email in your profile.
Travel status and photos: turn off or delete in your profile; ask us to remove photos of you.
Delete your account and data: contact us and we'll remove your profile; roster and score history may be kept in anonymized form to preserve other players' records.
Retention and security
We keep account and play data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after so results and rankings stay accurate. Data is stored on Google Firebase in the United States with access controls; no system is perfectly secure.
Children
PB Tourney isn't directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
